This interactive dome-mapping develops different modes and complex behaviours depending on time and intensity of the swimmer’s movement. Over and under the water speakers are placed which play live generated audio-sounds. The installation takes the very unique characteristics of a swimming pool into account, being a public but at the same time very private place. The individual can concentrate on himself and simply enjoy the experience. Yet the system recognizes group activities as well, so people can interact and effect the graphics as collective.
Two site-specific versions were realized: one in a very old public swimming pool in Halle /Saale and one at the Ars Electronica Festival 2008 in Linz.
In collaboration with Stefan Schwabe and Fabien Artal.
